L. Bradley. Bilborough, Nottingham...
Hello again, I just wanted to let you know the amount of comments I've had since having my windows tinted is amazing. I've got your number saved and have passed it to two people already....
Miss S Carter, Wollaton, Nottingham...
Hello Pete. Just a little note to so say thank you. There was no way I would have had the time to get my car windows tinted if I'd had to go somewhere to have them done, but with you...
Mr. C Jones. Newark, Nottingham...
This is the third car of mine you have tinted the windows for over the years, and is it just me or do you get better and better. Mint Job. Thanks again and I'm sure I will be calling you...

Window Tinting Help and Advice
Welcome to our help and advice pages. Here you will find some useful hints and tips on window tinting. Keep in mind if your car is worth a fair amount of money, having a professional window tint job will make your car easier to sell and could even put value on the car - a bad tint job wont - so do call us if you would prefer a professional tint job instead of giving it a go yourself.
GENERAL HELP AND ADVICE: Window Tinting
Car Window Tinting offers privacy and UV protection, but assess your skills before taking on this project yourself: At the very least, you'd better be good at measuring and cutting. This is a precision job.
Window Tinting Tools Required
Gather the following tools and materials: window tinting film, an X-Acto knife, razors, a blow dryer or heat gun, 4-inch squeegees, small sponges, a 4-inch hard card or Bondo card, a bone tool, and a spray bottle filled with a mixture of dishwashing soap and water. You are ready to prepare your Window Tinting film. Prepare the Window to be Tinted
Cut the film in the shape of the windows. Set cutouts aside on a glass board or an area devoted to cut film. This area must be clean and free from debris. Spray the side window with the soap and water mixture, again ensuring the window is clean and free from debris. Use a razor to go over the side window to remove any residue. Use a 4-inch squeegee to get rid of any residue from top to bottom.
Applying the Window Tint
Apply the tint to the side window. Leave 1/4 inch to 1/16 inch from the top edge of the window without tint. This will be covered when the window and door are closed. Employ the bone tool and push the tint below the inner rubber seals of the window. Use the hard card to make certain that the tint goes into all the corners. Take a heat gun or blow dryer in one hand and a squeegee in the other, and heat from the top on one side, working the tint with the squeegee on the other side in a horizontal motion. This should get out any remaining moisture from between the film and glass.
TINTING REAR WINDOWS:
Follow the previous steps mentioned above in applying the window tint film to the rear window. Don't use the razor blade to prep the rear window because the blade can damage the rear defroster. Count the number of defroster lines on the back window. Cut the rear window film into the required number of panels. Place the first panel on the bottom, the second panel on top of the first, the third panel on top of the second and so on. Identify the defroster line where two panels overlap. Trim the film from over the defroster lines.
Choosing the correct window film for car window tinting, commercial window tinting and residential window tinting can be complicated. Metal coated tinted windows reduce heat, glare, and block harmful ultraviolet rays that damage fabrics as well as your skin! Safety film can help prevent injury from flying glass caused by vandalism, earthquakes and accidents. Give your car, home or office a custom look and added protection with the many fine window tinting products available today!
Tinting the Other Windows
Use the same procedure to apply the tint film to the other vehicle windows and the front windshield.
WINDOW TINTING HINTS AND TIPS:
Window Tinting Tip 1
When tinting your windows yourself, you must do this in a warm, clean and calm environment. Make sure your vehicle is clean and that the windows to be tinted are bladed and squeegied.
Window Tinting Tip 2
Have a buddy help you when tinting your windows. Make sure the windows you're tinting are saturated with a soap and water mix. With tint laying on table, remove the plastic that covers the sticky side. While doing this, have your buddy spray the sticky newly uncovered window tint with the water mix. Lift tint making sure you only touch the edges and spray both sides of window tint (generously) down with water. Have your buddy assist you moving the tint into vehicle and setting it against the wet glass (careful not to touch the sticky side against anything!).
Window Tinting Tip 3
Start squeeging from center lightly and make sure the tint stays centered and saturated on outside. Take your time and use your finesse to effectively work water out from center
Window Tinting Tip 4
If window has large curve, you may need to use the hair dryer to warm up tint and work from center with generous water mix. Work squeegie as long as it takes to completely get all water mix out from under. Work edges if necessary with card to get tint under window guide seals.
Window Tinting Tip 5
Let the tint dry overnight in temperatures no less than 50 F.
